Position Summary

The Firestone Building Products (FSBP) logistics team is responsible for domestic and international transportation to ensure our 15 facilities and various vendors have the resources to service our final customers with the highest quality at the lowest cost. The Transportation Specialist is responsible for coordinating the day to day activities as it relates the FSBP’s logistics function.

Responsibilities

  • Carrier routing, tendering, training and support through TMS
  • Timely processing of freight payment through 3rd party freight payment provider
  • Prepare and file timely and accurate freight reports to management 
  • Special projects to drive service improvement and cost reduction

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 1-2 years of experience in logistics and/or transportation or;
  • High school diploma plus 5 years of experience in logistics and/or transportation
  • Knowledge of TMS systems, shipment planning, carrier rating, and electronic freight payment systems
  • Strong Excel and Access skills
  • Ability to work well in teams and work with and train remote teammates
