Position Summary

The Manager, Supply Chain oversees and manages overall supply chain and logistics operations to create value, maximize efficiency and minimize cost of organization's supply chain.


Warehouse & Logistics

  • Manage logistics and warehouse teams
  • Ensure transportation routes selected maximize capacity and service, and minimize cost
  • Ensure optimal relationship with 3PL servicers and carriers in regards to selection, pricing, delivery terms and issue escalations
  • Implement master agreement and leverage organizational initiatives for logistics and warehousing
  • Play key business owner role regarding implementation of warehouse management system and of transportation management system.



  • Responsible for material costs forecasts or standard cost lists
  • Accountable to plan, communicate and execute all material requirement to supply proper quantities, on time, at the optimum cost and quality
  • Ensure that all materials planning activities are carried out in support of corporate financial objectives, and in accordance with corporate policies and procedures
  • Accountable for inventory management and cycle count process


Sourcing & Procurement

  • Maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to procurement and products
  • Evaluate current and potential suppliers and make recommendation for changes to facilitate improvements in supply, cost and risk mitigation
  • Contract administration and execution of supply agreements to assure suppliers are performing to standard
  • Monitor annual volumes and recommend forward purchases to attain rebates within ROI requirements
  • Provide forecasts to suppliers based on sales projections, seasonality and historical usage
  • Coordinate with manufacturing to assure initiatives are planned, coordinated and implemented, as required
  • Develop supply partners to drive low cost sources to achieve lowest cost at best quality and delivery
  • Execute and lead the implementation of significant process improvements and standardization initiatives to drive purchasing cost savings
    • Analyze and interpret process improvement results to identify potential issues and develop plan for resolution
  • Collaborate with peers in Operations, Manufacturing, Sales and Quality Assurance to ensure decisions align with company objectives
  • Present to Executive Leadership Team on current market situations and recommend risk management strategies to protect the company


Inventory Control

  • Supports manufacturing in determining material availability to ensure on time deliveries to customers.
  • Maintain high level of inventory accuracy


People Management

  • Develop, coach and motivate purchasing, sourcing and materials staff by setting clear priorities and allocating resources to ensure results are delivered to meet production needs and aligned with organizational expectations
  • Develops training programs and assists in training employees in company-wide procurement procedures.


  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics or related field, chemistry background preferred.
  • 5-7 years’ experience in demand planning, supply chain, production, sourcing, warehouse management, logistics and transportation, purchasing, and customs compliance in a manufacturing environment.
  •  5+ years of experience in management of teams with demonstrated ability to implement performance management strategies
  • Excellent project management, team building and communication skills
  • Experience creating collaborative strategic partnerships with suppliers
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to dive into details, but also take a higher strategic view of the business when necessary
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills and ability to measure supplier accountability
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with various departments
  • Demonstrated experience in implementing and using an MRP/ERP, freight and warehousing systems.
  • Experience in a metric/data driven organization with ability to implement new/updated metrics as appropriate.
  • Ability to perform analytics and utilize data to create and execute a sourcing plan
  • Ability to create RFx, conduct sourcing engagements, and is an effective negotiator.
  • Effective Communicator - ability to communicate across all levels of the organization (Both internal and client-facing) supplier negotiations.
  • APICS, C.P.M., C.P.S.M. or N.A.C.M. certifications or eligibility preferred.
