Position Summary

This position will lead the Instrumentation and Control function across the manufacturing organization of Firestone Building Products Company.  It will be located at our new Bridgestone Corporate Headquarters in downtown Nashville, TN.  The incumbent will lead the transformation of our Instrumentation and Control practices, and build capability within the organization.  It will require up to 30-40% travel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the Instrumentation and Control function across 12 plants and 3 distribution centers within Firestone Building Products.
  • Establish Instrumentation and Control standards for the division.
  • Drive work practices, tools, and employee capabilities within the Instrumentation and Control community.
  • Develop scopes of work for major capital projects.
  • Plan, forecast, and deliver cost savings related to Automation / Instrumentation and Control implementations and improvements.
  • Establish a comprehensive system for control system asset lifecycle management, including component standardization and useful life.
  • Adopt / establish engineering design standards for Instrumentation and Control equipment.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • At least 5 years of direct instrumentation and control experience in manufacturing facilities, including the ability to program PLCs and Distributed Control Systems.
  • Experience implementing data historians and utilizing statistical packages.
  • Experience establishing Instrumentation and Control standards.
  • Proven track record of driving process improvements through automation.

 

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience automating web handling equipment.
  • Multi-site oversight experience.
  • Strong collaboration, influence, and change management skills.
