Position Summary

The Firestone Building Products, Florence, KY plant is looking for Production Line Operator/Material Handler.  Production is a 3 shift operation, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturday overtime.  We offer immediate eligibility for medical insurance at the start of employment.

Responsibilities

A qualified candidate will:

  • Complete a forklift inspection checklist at the beginning of each shift, prior to use.
  • Prepare and handle packaging requirements including bags, stretch wrap, adhesive, labeling requirements, supply of slats (feet) and warehouse storage location.
  • Perform piece counts, labeling, visual quality, and warehouse storage.
  • Receives product from the laminator upon start-up.
  • Process startup material as recycle or waste.
  • Ensures all equipment is ready for operation, such as: cross cut saws, side saws, stacking guide, dust collector, baler, perforator, etc.
  • Ensures all packaging materials are ready for production, such as: bundle labels, stretch wrap, ink, etc.
  • Move product from the end of the line and place in designated area of the warehouse for storage using a forklift

Qualifications

High School Diploma 
 

Skill Requirements

Able to read, write and speak English.

Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.

Possess forklift experience, preferred.

Possess manufacturing experience, preferably in chemical processing operation.

Physical Requirements

Able to lift up to 50 lbs. repetitively.

Able to stand, sit, and/or walk for long periods of time
