Position Summary

To supervise staff of shipping clerks to assure proper and timely warehousing and shipping of product. This position is responsible for of the day-to-day shipping/receiving of metal roofing products while keeping safety a number one priority.  


  1. Provide sales office or customers with any requested forwarding or shipping information.
  2. Coordinate between shipping and producing departments all activities concerning material availability to cover critical shipments.
  3. Supervises all operations relative to inventories of finished goods.
  4. Assigns and schedules work of subordinates to meet changes in day to day requirements.
  • Working with management to schedule and support daily customer needs
  • Facilitate training of all personnel in the proper use of all systems used to process orders and ship to customers
  • Coordination of order flow throughout the production process through shipment
  • Assist with inventory audits and cycle counts
  • Assist with 5S and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain and update safety IIP program, ensure proper use of PPE, and compliance of plant safety programs, investigate incidents and assist with implementation of safety countermeasures.
  • Promotes a team focus with an emphasis on individual accountability.
  • Apprises Warehouse Manager and/or Plant Manager on any activities that may affect the department’s ability to meet its daily obligations
  • Observe, train and coach teammates
  • Teammate management including attendance management, corrective action, and performance plans


  • High School Diploma required, college degree preferred
  • 3 years of experience as a supervisor or leader in a manufacturing environment.
  • Microsoft Office
  •  Must be able to manage multiple priorities and work at a fast pace.
  • Ability to work 8, 10 or 12 hour shifts is a must, hours vary depending on volume and season.
  • Some weekend work is required.
  • Must be safety and quality focused.
  • Must have excellent people skills.
