Position Summary

Firestone Building Production in Florence, KY is seeking a 3rd Shift Quality Control Technician for its polyiso insulation manufacturing facility.

  • Acquires samples from the production area by safely utilizing chop saw.
  • Performs testing of product including freezer and compression to ensure the product is able to meet specifications.
  • Documents all results of testing that takes place in appropriate database and/or form
  • Utilizes ISO 9000 procedures and maintains accurate records of product
  • Initiates items on hold and communicates information with the management team.
  • Releases product for shipping after ensuring product is meeting specifications
  • Performs calibration of testing equipment
  • Participates on Continuous Process Improvement projects and initiatives
  • Responsible for updating daily, weekly, monthly quality metrics for the plant
  • Performs other duties as assigned


  • Must be able to work overtime as needed
  • Possess forklift certification through FSBP
  • Must have good problem solving skills and be able to investigate to determine root cause
  • Willing to cross-train and rotate to other positions within production as needed
  • Must have a good attendance record
  • Must have a strong safety record
  • Must have good math skills
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Must have good computer skills and be proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

    Physical Requirements

    • Able to lift up to 50 lbs., repetitively
    • Able to stand, sit and/or walk a majority of the shift
    • Work in changing temperature environment (hot or cold)
