Position Summary

The Firestone Building Products, Florence KY plant is looking for Production Line/Unload Utility Operator on our 2nd shift.  We offer immediate eligibility for medical insurance at the start of employment. 

This position unloads chemical from rail cars and trucks, placing in Silos/tanks for in-line blending.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe clean work environment
  • Production Line Operator when not off loading raw material
  • Support Production Truckers and material Handler in all aspects of the production line
  • Hazmat certified for chemical off loading preferred
  • Calculate quantity of chemicals based on data-entry, from referencing the production schedule
  • Assign Batch numbers
  • Off load chemicals from rail car and trucks 
  • Empty chemical totes
  • Transfer chemical by forklift
  • Lock-out Tag-out for specific machinery
  • Focus on safety, quality, 5'S and Continuous Improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Skill Requirements

  • Focus on safety, quality, 5’s and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
  • Able to read, write and speak English
  • Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide
  • Posses forklift experience, preferred
  • Posses manufacturing experience, preferably in chemical processing operation
  • Willing to cross-train and rotate to other positions as needed
  • Must have good attention to detail
  • Must have good attendance
  •  

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs., repetitively
  • Able to stand, sit and/or walk a majority of the shift
  • Work in changing temperature environment (hot or cold)
