    Position Summary

    This position directs, controls, and organizes production teammate activities for the Seam Tape department. Provides safe work environment, while ensuring the quality and quantity of products meet departmental requirements. Communicates company objectives & plans work. Seeks continuous improvement opportunities. Aims to reach goals while working a continuous operating schedule.

    Responsibilities

    • The person in this position plans, directs, and controls activities on an assigned shift for the department.
    • Manages hourly teammates within the department
    • Consults with Department Manager in establishing objectives for safety, production, product quality, waste rates, cost control, and other operational-related matters
    • Maintains communications to educate team on plant and department business objectives
    • Completes accident investigations as needed
    • Determines safety countermeasures with the assistance of Safety department
    • Follows-up on safety countermeasures to promote a safe environment for teammates
    • Performs quality audits and responsible for department being compliant on all quality standards
    • Facilitates teammate activities for continuous improvement that support business objectives in the areas of safety, quality, productivity, cost, and human resource development
    • Reports production performance on a daily basis
    • Makes production & personnel decisions within the scope of authority delegated by department manager and/or foreman

    Qualifications

    4 to 5 years Production Experience to include at least 2 years supervisory experience

    BS Degree in related field is preferred
