    Position Summary

    The Process Engineering Manager will lead process definition, standardization, and continuous improvement across all business segments within Firestone Building Products.  This newly-created position will serve as a key interface between manufacturing facilities, research and development, and the project management office.   The position will be located at the new Bridgestone Headquarters in downtown Nashville, Tennessee.


    Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive out waste and process variation.
    • Lead the definition and continuous improvement of manufacturing process capability.
    • Drive continuous improvement across the manufacturing base in terms of process efficiencies, yields, production rates, changeover efficiencies, and costs.
    • Put systems in place to communicate and propagate improvements and best practices across manufacturing networks.
    • Serve as steward of installed manufacturing technologies and processes. Provide process definition for capacity expansions and new products and technologies.
    • Work closely with the Research and Development network, and stay aligned with development and emergence of new products and technologies.
    • Champion implementation of process standardization, automation, and error-proofing.
    • Lead the standardization, rationalization, and maintenance of Bills of Materials and Routings for the manufacturing networks.
    • Assess manufacturing support and project needs, and staff process engineering resources as appropriate to meet needs.


    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelors Degree in Engineering.
    • Minimum of 10 years of work as a process engineer, including at least 5 years of process engineering management experience.
    • Expertise with Minitab, SAP, and data historian systems.
    • Experience defining and optimizing Bills of Materials and Routings.
    • Six Sigma and / or Lean Manufacturing certification.

    Desired Qualifications

    • Six Sigma Black Belt and / or Lean Expert certification.
    • Multi-site / Multi-segment process engineering management experience in one of the process industries (building materials, chemicals, consumer goods, etc.).
    • Track record of managing productivity / cost savings programs and delivering on savings targets.
    • Strong collaboration, influence, and change management skills.
